Where are you located and what are your hours?

We are located on the University of Arizona campus, in the Old Main Bldg. room 201. Our hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm. You can contact us by phone at (520) 621-4548 or by fax at (520) 621-5015.

I need an advisor, where do I go?

It depends!

If you have academic questions (for example, "What classes should I take to fulfill my major requirements?" or "When am I going to graduate?") you need to see your academic advisor. This person is probably housed in your respective department or college. Contact your department or college to set up an appointment. Click here for a listing of UA departments.

If you have questions regarding study skills (issues with time management, studying habits, stress and anxiety, etc.) you are in the right place and you can set up an appointment with one of our academic counselors. You have two options for making contact with a counselor:

  • Call 621-4548 to schedule an appointment with a counselor. We will ask you your major and what kind of things you'd like to cover.
  • E-mail a counselor. Be as specific as you can in your e-mail. You will get a response within two days regarding your issues.

What if I don't want to see an academic counselor for help?

You still have a couple of options.

  • You can take a workshop (or as many as you'd like) for free on-line. You don't need anything else other than the internet. You can also download useful information from each of the workshops.

I am trying to get into graduate school, where do I start?

Congratulations! You've made a tough decision and want to be as ready as possible. This means competing against a group of people just like you or trying to beat a past score on an entrance exam you weren't too happy with. Here is the scoop:

Take a preparation course through the University Learning Center. We offer courses for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT. The courses are a third of the costs of our competitors and are very intensive for the focused student. Visit the Graduate School Preparation page for more information.
To sign up for your ACTUAL test, you will need to contact the Testing Office at 621-7589 or visit their website here.

I need tutoring, what are my options?

Students that use tutoring are usually the students that excel above the rest. We're glad to be a part of this process by offering University Tutoring Services.
