Affirmations
An affirmation is a positive statement about yourself that can cover three areas: who you are, your potential, and positive change in your life.
  • Determine what you want to be true about yourself.
  • Write it down, describing yourself as if you already had it. Be as articulate and thoughtful as possible. Use colorful language. Example: I work hard and deserve to relax frequently, fully and completely. My family and friends benefit from my resulting contentment and peace.
  • Once written down, make several copies. Post in various places and carry with you.
  • Read it and/or recite your description aloud several times a day.
  • If you don’t feel it’s true yet, resist the urge to argue with its claim.
