Motivation and Goal Setting
Goals give direction to our lives and help us focus on achieving something rather than simply experiencing. Having clear, attainable goals helps us take control of our lives.

Motivation gives purpose and direction to a behavior, even something as simple as getting out of bed in the morning. Motivation comes from a combination of inner desires and values. If something is particularly important to you, you will do more to accomplish it. A good example of this is people who sleep in on weekends because they have no incentive to get out of bed early like they do on weekdays.

The same is true of setting goals. You need to be motivated to set goals and keep them. It is easy to set a goal, but sticking with it may not be so simple.

One of the important things you should consider when motivating yourself and setting goals is what you need to change. Changing a routine, a chain of thought, especially an outlook on life, is a key to motivating yourself and to achieving your goals. But change is not something that can easily happen overnight. It takes time and practice.
