When you use imagery to change your emotion it is called visualization. Visualization can be used to picture to yourself what it would be like if you accomplished your goal.
- Use your imagination to determine what you want to change in your life.
- Use as many senses as possible. Write down how it would look, sound, and feel if things were different.
- Practice the visualization on a regular basis and in a relaxed fashion.
- Use this method to visualize a different (better) outcome to events that may have actually happened.
