Here are some time management tips to use as a reference. Everything listed here will be covered in the following sections:
  • There are only 24 hours in a day. Because of this, time management starts with managing yourself.
  • Figure out how you are now using your time everyday. Rank order those activities from most time to least (net surfing, talking on the phone, etc.).
  • Set goals for time management (e.g. “I will free up 10 hours a week in my schedule”).
  • Create a study plan, schedule or routine to adhere to.
  • Invest in a day timer, calendar or scheduling program to help you with managing your time.
  • Set a time limit for each task you are doing.
  • Try to eliminate waiting time as much as possible. If you have to wait, do something.
  • Make a “To Do” list.
